This is the truth: my blog is still alive. My reason for being MIA was that 1.) The people have been sick and I don’t want to be, so air, sunlight and a lot of Vitamin C, 2.) I was trying to remember my strange dreams but brain won’t let me remember, hence, I’m mostly in daydream mode (this part is a joke) and 3.) I was, for most weekends, was compelled to smoothing the edges of my work WHICH I LOVE, IT IS MY DARLING BABY. Every time I revise, I get the sinking feeling of, “Say goodbye to last week’s/month’s query, because your sample pages sucked.” But I am willing to try again. Until I don’t have any means to try.
If you’re wondering, thanks to a short story
(which I sent to a lovely online anthology which right now I am not hoping to get positive answers because it’s been too long BUT HEY), I have spun my WIP with unapologetic Pinoy colors which is also another reason why I want to push this project forward. The lovely but heartbreaking response from an agent who recently asked for my full and passed (just this January) pushed me to go forward with hefty revisions which would make my story stronger. I have a secret I won’t tell you, but her letter, which I first cried at because she shared my love for F, and she found L & E’s ship cute, and asked for more info about the two other members because THEIR BACKGROUNDS NEED TO BE TOLD, was everything I needed atm. This Saturday, with ONE OK ROCK (EOTS is not my favorite album, nor was I impressed by it, but that’s also my opinion in their Ambitions album WHICH was my actual ballast for writing the angsty scene my other hero needed. F is fighting for his right, even though his story doesn’t come before the second book (which I plan to write, if this one gets accepted). I’m happy. I’m also, spoiling things?
I went to SIUMC alone this Sunday, and since someone was sat beside my mother, I settled beside Nanay Abelina WHO HAD A CAN OF PRINGLES FOR ME. Yep. I asked her thrice. She said it was mine. I won’t say no. And I think I ~deserve~, because that morning, we got the Sunday School prepped up, kids’ names gathered, teachers all covered, and we managed to tackle a few things about P&W which also meant dragging Calyx and Chrisan into the group AND MY HEART IS WEEPING because it’s been 2 years and we all got to start again and this team has been through so many uncertainties and we needed to get the ball rolling.
Agents, professionals, please excuse me for being a soft ball of yarn unraveling here.
A few things: Twitter’s #CopyPasteCris, Shin Lim’s actual magic is in his hair, I have watched episodes of Gundam Seed (thanks to Fafner Exodus, they’re from the same studio) and ogled over Athrun and Cagalli (again) AND found out they wouldn’t end up together? WHY GUNDAM SEED DESTINY? WHY??? Also, Lady Gaga and Brandon Cooper’s chemistry is electric, diversity with talent WON The Oscars, 2019 means El Niño, the Senatoriables’ Debate is where people gets BURNED, and How to Train Your Dragon 3 is out and I must watch it. Mouthful? Yes.
I also have the colds again, which is why I’m glugging many glasses of water so this won’t end up in another flu. The weather is getting hotter, patience getting thinner, my dad has gone through lengthy car rides and we commend him for enduring (ah, the work of a pastor with a car), February is almost over, and I have my favorite things in the fridge but I won’t get to enjoy them because of my dry throat. Nanay Abelina’s Pringles is done through, by the way. I don’t know how to bless her, too.
Excuse me, dear people, because I now have to rack my brains for my hero’s motivation for my next WIP (whose Draft 1 is almost finished). I’ve got things to write. Bye. x
